604media has had a busy season! I feel like every week I am announcing exciting new releases! Our latest website design project is www.dominionlending.ca, a Canadian Mortgage Brokerage Firm based out of Vancouver.

This project was a pleasure, the folks at Dominion were awesome to work with, and we are really excited with the results! Already we’ve heard reports that leads have been up close to 500% since the new site went up, so let’s hope that trend continues!

a pretty, simple, custom cms

December 5th 2008 | posted by steve addthis

I guess it could also be considered “a pretty simple CMS” as well, but I’d say it is both pretty & simple.. but enough with word games.. we are happy to announce the launch of www.debrand.ca!

Our friends at de.brand are involved in some very interesting new services, best explained by them (so check out the site!). It’s our pleasure being able to help out.

From a design perspective, it was a nice break from the normal web design process. We got to do some live shooting to capture to physical elements used to create the 3D environment.. a fancy way of saying we had an arts & crafts day, cutting pieces of cardboard, and paper, and taking pictures. But it was REALLY HARD WORK!!

de.brand and 604media are currently involved with the formation of a new cooperative, the Vancouver Creative Alliance, involving a handful of Vancouver’s most exciting creative & tech companies that will be officially launched in 2009.

fgta - custom cms driven resource website

604media is proud to announce the official launch of From Grief To Action’s new website & brand. The site features a host of resources for families and friends of those affected by drug use.

We built a custom content management system that allows the FGTA folks add documents, treatment centre & support group listings, news & events, links, and manage all of their various content pages. We’ve also built in functionality so that visitors can submit news, events and resources for public listing.

Over the past 3 years, we have experienced amazing growth and 604 would like to express our gratiture to all of our clients who have made our success possible! It’s truly been a pleasure.

(Did we mention the roof-top deck? public disclaimer: 604media lunch time will be extended an extra hour during summer hours for BBQs and tanning..)

604media in Mexico!

October 31st 2008 | posted by tim addthis

Steve, Kelly and I arrived in Puerto Vallarta yesterday for a company retreat-of-sorts. Anton and Brendan arrive in the next couple days. I can speak for the rest of the team when I say we’re all really looking forward to this much needed vacation. Although we will be carrying on business as usual, it will be at a reduced pace while we enjoy the sunshine and culture of Mexico!

Many thanks go out to my mother and step-father for giving us their condo for the week, making this trip possible!

More posts to come, but for now here’s a teaser shot of the view from the condo…

inserting images to a newsletter in phpList

Hey, we created this for a client wondering how to upload and insert an image into their newsletter template.. Thought we’d post it for anyone who could use it. Enjoy. Oh, the width suggestion was related to a specific template, and is the only thing I would disregard.

google chrome browser (p)review

September 8th 2008 | posted by steve addthis

As a disclaimer, I should state that I am a Mac user, and have not been able to test-drive Chrome, Google’s new browser. That’s why I call this post a (p)review.. As of this post, there is no Mac version, which is lame for us Macsters (Mac + Hipster = Macster), but understanding how Google unveils it’s products, it is a predictable move. One reason Google has had such great success with it’s innovation process, is it’s willingness to release Betas and sometimes Alphas to the general public, in order to collect valuable user data and feedback. Chrome was released in 100 countries, and 43 languages, an impressive stat to make up for no Mac love.

Coolest…video…ever

I’m not normally one to blatantly post other people’s content, but I feel compelled to share this with the world (the 604media world, that is). At NVIDIA’s recent NVISION Visual Computing show, Jame and Adam from Mythbusters demonstrated a fundemental difference between single and multicore processors, and they did so in a spectacular and rediculous manner.

Credit for this find goes to Gizmodo, one of my favourite blogs. Go watch at Gizmodo.
