604media is proud to announce the launch of the LIFT Philanthropy Partner’s website.

LIFT accelerates the growth and impact of selected not-for-profit organizations to create positive and lasting social change through sport and healthy living, and literacy and lifelong learning. They aim to enhance social well-being and economic property in communities across Canada.

LIFT Philanthropy Partners approached 604media to develop a CMS based website based on a design they had commissioned. Aside from the CMS website, they also required a full and robust contact management solution. The website was built using a Wordpress CMS backend with custom written plugins. The contact management solution was built on a heavily customized SugarCRM system.

604media is proud to announce the launch of the Arts Health Network Canada website.

Arts Health Network Canada has a broad mandate to increase understanding of the health benefits of arts-based activities and to help make them available across the country. Specifically, the AHNC’s purpose is to bring arts and health activities into the mainstream of Canadian life so that all Canadians are able to engage in arts for the health of it, as well as the joy of it.

AHNC approached 604media to design and develop a custom CMS platform which would not only allow them to update their website content, but also to manage their user base, manage their resources and documents, and manage their events. The platform also required the ability to provide multiple levels of access and restrict access based on group permissions. In the coming months, further enhancements to the site will be made to increase the scope in order to allow better collaboration and to build a larger arts-health community.

604media is proud to announce the launch of the Scripts for Schools website.

Scripts for Schools is dedicated to publishing Readers Theatre and Choral Speaking scripts. These scripts are intended to assist teachers in promoting an interest in stories and reading in the classroom. Scripts for Schools has expanded from an initial 10 published scripts in 1988 to its current 300-plus script titles.

Scripts for Schools approached 604media to redesign and bring new life to their website. They requested an easy to update CMS and ecommerce solution in order to market and automated the selling of their scripts. Scripts for Schools is integrated into a modified Wordpress system to allow for easy CMS updating as well as an Ecommerce component to manage the online sales.

Ocean West Construction Ltd. has established a 20-year track record in British Columbia as quality general contractors and restoration specialists, with a long list of successful projects and satisfied customers.

Ocean West Construction approached 604media to take their current website design and integrate it with a CMS backend for easy updating. The site was recreated and integrated with Wordpress. Custom plugins were created to manage some of the elements of the site which could not be managed by the standard Wordpress CMS.

Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir, regarded as a leader in the gospel choir movement in Canada, is known for its dynamic vocal sound, excellence in performance and a commitment to sharing the “good noise” that is gospel music. The choir’s mandate is to develop and promote an appreciation and understanding of gospel music in all its many styles and forms and introduce audiences to the unique and powerful aspects of this music.

Calabash Bistro is a restaurant dedicated to Caribbean cuisine, served in a relaxed reggaecentric environment. The roots of Calabash restaurant are in the owners shared passion for the creative arts. One of the key elements of the owners vision is that Calabash will be a vessel for food, music, drink and art, and will provide a platform for artists to perform and display their work.

Built on a customized Wordpress content management system, Calabashbistro.com will allow both present and future patrons of the restaurant to view more information on the food and drink, events, featured artists and musicians.

Moving Images Distribution is based in Vancouver, BC – with roots that lie within the independent film and video community – they currently distribute over 800 works that are inspiring and innovative in approach. Their mandate is to enhance public appreciation for the media arts and encourage critical thinking by linking works created by their membership of media artists and independent producers with audiences.

Through the use of their new custom e-commerce solution, Moving Images Distribution is hopeful that they will be able to bring their body of works to a much broader audience.

Well, Google has decided to contribute by making searching even faster than before. With the new Google Instant, search results are displayed as you are typing your search query.

Google estimates 2-5 seconds will be saved per search, which works out to 3.5 billion seconds a day being saved world wide. That is an astounding 11 hours saved per second!

Currently Google Instant is starting to roll-out to users on Google domains in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia – with hopefully the others following soon.
